The Wet

Presented at “Acousmonium”, the International Festival of Acousmatic Music at the New Stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre

This work studies how the sensory perception changes under conditions of discomfort and emotional distress. “The Wet” contrasts soothing pleasant sounds that are familiar since the childhood (home environment, kitchen appliances) with sounds that are supposed to alienate the listener from themself (natural body noises, etc.)

This piece is a metaphor for the torments of creativity and the joy of invention.

This 8-channel composition was created specifically for the “Acousmonium” festival. Most of the sounds were recorded and processed by me. The project was curated by Andrei Bundin.
